He asked what brought me joy and here is what she said
Things that have wings and also tether me to the earth
Lying on the forest floor on a half-misty morning, a murmur of butterflies circling
Long-lasting red-red lipstick that doesn’t stain my teacup
Mistletoe
Whatever tickles my skin like a patient breeze
Feathery tops, a cuddly child as a hammock buddy,
A cat lazily circling bare ankles
The quiet, elegant way night always becomes day
All things seafoam green because they carry the ocean’s melody
and imagined smiles of grandparents never met
Cooking something wonderful for a man who asked what brought me joy
Lovely, simply lovely!
Thank you, Eliza! 😉
